Egis road & tunnel operation Ireland is an Irish company established in 2005. ERTO is part of Egis Projects Ireland and the Egis Group.
ERTO's prime responsibility is managing all processes associated with the operation and maintenance of the Dublin Port Tunnel. This includes toll collection, traffic management, tunnel safety management, emergency and contingency planning, equipment and infrastructure inspection and maintenance. Later this year ERTO will be responsible for the operational management of the Jack Lynch Tunnel in Cork.
ERTO is also responsible for managing and operating The National Traffic Control Centre for the management of traffic on the M50, including the intersection in and out Dublin city, the M1 and in the near future ERTO will also assume responsibility for traffic management for the M7/M8 motorway. The National Traffic Control Centre will operate several services including: electronic messages to motorists; emergency road telephones; and advanced traffic management systems.
